After two wins out of two for the Leicester Lion Cubs in the National Trophy competition, the juniors head to the Central Park Stadium in Sittingbourne on Monday to race against the Kent Kings.
The two teams last met in April at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium when Leicester, after weathering early pressure from the visitors, went on to win comfortably by 57 points to 38.
“There are only four clubs in the National Trophy competition which means three home and three away fixtures to decide the two finalists so there is hardly any room for mistakes and although Kent have yet to pick up a point from three matches the meeting down there will be far from easy. They have a good home track advantage which we need to master and if we can gain some success in the early heats that will build confidence and hopefully we will then come away with the match points” explained the Lion Cubs Junior Team Manager David Howard.
Kent are without Ben Morley for the fixture and have named the Stoke rider Ben Hopwood as a guest in his place, whilst the Cubs, jubilant from winning at home on Sunday against Stoke welcome back James Sarjeant and Tom Perry from injury. Oliver Greenwood who recently broke his collar-bone is replaced by Nathan Greaves who stepped in as a guest for the Cubs and scored thirteen points against Stoke.
