LIONS V KING'S LYNN (EL) - PREVIEW

With the race to finish in the top two places of the Elite League table coming to a conclusion the final positions could rest upon the results at Leicester as King’s Lynn and Poole are the next clubs to appear at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium.

King’s Lynn are the first visitors on Thursday and currently head the table, a position they have occupied for most of the season. The Stars though face the Rapid Solicitors Lions without two of their riders as Niels-Kristian Iversen and Lewis Rose are both side-lined with knee injuries. Team Manager Rob Lyon has booked Chris Harris the Coventry captain and Simon Lambert as replacements but otherwise the Norfolk club are at full strength.

Leicester too are forced into changes as Simon Stead and Josh Bates are riding for Sheffield and with Krzysztof Buczkowski still out of action following his broken shoulder the Lions have Craig Cook, Sam Masters and Tom Perry guesting for the team.

“Thursday is a massive night for King’s Lynn who are determined to retain their position in the table and Poole are hard on their heels wanting to topple them. The results at Leicester could have a massive bearing on how the two clubs finish and they are aware of that I’m sure. We will be going all out to throw the cat amongst the pigeons and so provide our fans with a fitting end to our first year in the Elite League. Unfortunately we are also missing three riders but I am really pleased with the replacements. Sam Masters has never let us down when I have asked him to guest for us and neither has Craig Cook who has become an acknowledged Leicester track specialist. Tom Perry always gives full commitment and is a racer so it all adds up to a gripping match in the making” said the Lions Team Manager Norrie Allan.
