LIONS SUFFER DOUBLE DEFEAT

LEICESTER team boss Simon Stead admitted it was always going to be “an uphill struggle” without Scott Nicholls at King’s Lynn.

The Lions went down heavily 56-34 and 60-30 in their double header against the Tru Plants Stars at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Stead was dealt a huge blow when Nicholls was ruled out with a broken ankle just 24 hours before the two clashes.

He said: “It was going to be tough enough at full strength. King’s Lynn are flying right now and deservedly finished top of the league.

“The boys did have a go but they have so much firepower especially on their home patch. It was always going to be an uphill struggle.

“We had the odd moment of class from the boys but never in the hunt to get a result. Unfortunately the joy of winning on Monday night was short-lived by losing Scott.

“All we can do is wish Scotty a speedy recovery.”
