BOUYANT Leicester boss Stewart Dickson insists his side will get through a busy July – with a little help from their friends.
Dickson has spent the last 24 hours booking a long line of guest riders to replace broken ankle victim Richie Worrall.
Worrall has had surgery to repair the damage and is now back at his St Helens base beginning his rehabilitation.
And Watling JCB Lions chief Dickson has revealed how British legend Chris ‘Bomber’ Harris – a star of some of the most stunning moves in televised meetings over the last 15-years – will be a regular this month.
Harris will ride for Worrall in Friday’s cup tie with Eastbourne at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena – and appear on three other occasions in July.
“I spoke to Richie and he’s back home which is good news,” said Dickson. “For this month because Richie is on a good average it means I have some good options as guests to replace him.
“I must stress how much I appreciate the co-operation of their clubs to enable this to happen and I can confirm Chris Harris will ride for us at home on Friday, and twice against Berwick and for our trip to Glasgow.
“Richard Lawson, who I know well, will deputise at home to Edinburgh and Arron Summers, another familiar face to me, will ride for us at home to Glasgow.
“But for now we have to focus on Friday at Leicester and whilst I wouldn’t say it’s mission impossible we have a tall order through no fault of our own.
“We went to Eastbourne for the first leg badly depleted but I can assure every Leicester fan we will do what we can – we’ll give it everything. I look forward to seeing everyone.”
