LEICESTER’S Lion Cubs are back in action at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena (Beaumont Park) tonight against strongly fancied Mildenhall – but the club are alarmed at ticket sales.
Joint owner Damien Bates has revealed that, as things stand, they will need to prop up the meeting financially unless a late surge of fans secure their tickets.
“It’s worrying, we are desperate to continue with the Cubs because we believe in developing riders,” said Bates.
“But as of this morning less than 200 tickets have been sold and that’s simply not enough to sustain racing at that level. We also have concerns over early sales for Saturday.
“We totally understand it’s an expensive time with another home meeting for the senior team on Saturday but after everything we’ve been though we really need the Leicester public to back us.
“Hopefully we’ll get a few more for tonight and people can then start counting down to what could be one of the matches of the season against Redcar here on Saturday.”
Tickets are available now from leicesterlions.seatedly.com both for tonight and Saturday.
