LEICESTER wish to remind supporters of their end-of-season presentation and awards night on Saturday October 26.

The event takes place at Leicestershire County Cricket Club, starting at 7.30pm, and the last opportunity to buy tickets is at this coming Saturday’s play-off semi-final second leg against Redcar.

In association with LSSC, tickets cost £17.50 for Supporters’ Club members and £20 for non-members, and will be available from Bev at the Track Shop – or contact the club direct.

A two-course buffet will be included as well as a disco, and the evening will feature presentations, awards and 2019 farewells from the Watling JCB Lions and Roger Webster Lion Cubs riders.

With the Championship Shield already in the bag, it is hoped that further silverware will be on show on the night.

The Lion Cubs are into both the National League Grand Final and the KO Cup Final, and dates are now awaited for those meetings, with opposition to be confirmed for the league title decider.

Meanwhile the Lions face a massive clash with Redcar at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena on Saturday as they look to pull back an eight-point first leg deficit and book a Grand Final showdown with Glasgow.

Team boss Stewart Dickson said: “The Lions have already created history by winning their first-ever piece of silverware, and are challenging for a place in the play-off Final – and the Cubs have now reached two Finals in their first season.

“The end-of-season awards promises to be a very special event, where all promoters, management and riders of both teams will be in attendance.

“Tickets are selling fast, so I urge fans not to miss out on this event, which will celebrate what has been a very special year for Leicester Speedway.”
